The Process
Made by Hand. Every Step.
No CNC machines. No production line. Just one maker, simple tools, and nine deliberate steps.
- 1
Design
Every knife starts as a sketch. We talk through how you'll use it, then draw a profile that fits your hand and your work.
- 2
Steel Selection
The right steel for the job — high carbon for tough field knives, stainless for the kitchen, damascus when you want something special.
- 3
Profiling
The blank is cut and shaped to its final profile by hand at the grinder. No CNC, no laser cutting — just eyes, hands, and patience.
- 4
Grinding
Bevels are ground freehand, one pass at a time. This is where a flat bar of steel starts becoming a blade.
- 5
Heat Treat
Careful heating, quenching, and tempering give the blade its hardness and toughness. Get this wrong and nothing else matters.
- 6
Handle Fitting
Wood, micarta, or your requested material is fitted, pinned, and shaped until it disappears into your hand.
- 7
Hand Finishing
Hours of hand sanding bring out the character of the steel and the warmth of the handle. No shortcuts here.
- 8
Final Edge
Each blade is sharpened by hand and tested before it leaves the shop. If it won't shave, it won't ship.
- 9
Ready for the Field
Oiled, boxed in kraft paper with the Big H mark, and sent off to start its own journey with you.
